Gary has served in many capacities, from counseling to board leadership, with Life Centers, and International Life Services, and is excited about the potential his service on the CANFP Board brings to be a bridge between these natural allies—pregnancy counseling centers and CANFP— in healing so many lives he has seen broken by this culture’s failure to adequately and properly appreciate God’s gift of human sexuality. Gary brings a sense of humor and can do attitude to his commitment to the work of CANFP, work he describes as brave, bold, and beautiful! He has served on the Board since 2016, and as Vice President since 20018.

Fr. Mario Rizzo
Secretary
Oakland Region

Fr. Mario Rizzo, Secretary of the Executive Board, was ordained a Priest for the Diocese of Oakland in 2018—which happens to be the 50th Anniversary of Humanae Vitae–and serves as Parochial Administrator at St. Joseph Basilica Parish, Alameda. Fr. Mario became familiar with CANFP in the summer of 2012 when he attended a week-long program offered for seminarians by CANFP. He also attended the 2015 CANFP conference MALE and FEMALE HE CREATED THEM. His experience at both was featured in the Fall 2015 edition of CANFP NEWS. The youngest of six, Mario is the uncle to nine nieces and nephews. He is excited about the opportunity serving on the CANFP Board gives him, as a Roman Catholic Priest, to share his vision of fertility and sexuality, especially with young people, as viewed through the lens of God’s salvific plan for mankind and the inherent dignity He has bestowed on us, which is one of incredible joy and promise. He has served on the Board, and as Board Secretary, since 2016,
