How Can I Help My Body?

Question
I am currently 27 yo with very irregular cycles. I was on BCP for 10 years before discontinuing it in 2/04. I am TTC and have had some issues. My old OBGYN prescribed Clomid which wasn't given to me correctly and then he sent me out to an RE b/c it didn't work.
I went to RE #1 and they could never medicate me b/c my day 3 ALWAYS showed a high estradiol level due to a functional cyst. Every month I produce these functional cysts and that is what always made my levels abnormal. So, they would give me a shot of Ovidrel and my progesterone was in the 3.5-5 range each time (3 times in a row). I wasn't very happy b/c I seemed to get nowhere with that group.
Fast forward to now...I changed RE's, had an HSG, SA and everything is super normal. They decided to try Follistim for me b/c they said they thought that my low progesterone was due to low hormones in the beginning of my cycle (they have always been 300ish around ovulation). I had stimulated well, 3 mature follicles and estradiol level of 645 on the day of the IUI. However, I went in for b/w 3 days after the IUI to find out my progesterone was only 5 (now I am on Prometrium). Since they contolled my levels and they were good, I am not understanding why my progesterone was that low. It's obviously not related to my follicles b/c they are producing a good amount of estrogen.
They have not given me any diagnosis as to what is going on besides ovulatory dysfunction. What could be the cause of low progesterone?? I am very concerned and would like to know if there is anything I can do to help my body. Thanks for your time.
Sincerely,
Jessica
Answer
Dear Jessica,
To begin with the birth control pill effects women differently depending upon their age when begun. . . for you age 13, and the dosage of the hormones. These 2 things determine when fertility will return. It is possible that for some women fertility will not return at all.
Yes, there are several things you can do to help your body. First, learn a natural method to understand your cycle. You will keep a daily record of the events so that you will recognize a normal cycle when it returns. The advantages are immense. Then work with a doctor trained in NaProTechnology (Natural Procreative Technology) that uses your natural cycle to improve or enhance or correct any problems. Hormones that are used will be bio-identical to your own and have no negative side effects. Also use a good muti-vitamin, exercise, and eat a healthy well-balanced diet.
Our web site has names of NaProTech trained doctors and teachers of Natural Family Planning in California, or go to www.omsoul.com for other states.
I wish you well.
