Question
Hi. I have an outstanding question that I have been worried sick about and has been bothering me for so long now and I'm so scared. I am pregnant and am due on the 4th of September '08 and I don't know who the dad is, and I don't know how to work the dates out myself.... I am so worried about it. Can you please please help me?
Katy
Answer
Dear Katy,
First I would like to congratulate you on the difficult decision to carry this baby to term.
To determine the due date of a baby, doctors figure from the first day of the woman's last menstrual period and subtract three months and add 7 days. Women using Natural Family Planning chart their fertility and acts of intercourse. With this information they can determine the due date of their babies by taking the date of intercourse and subtracting three months and subtracting 7 days for the due date. If you know those dates of intercourse you might be able to identity the father of your child. However, the only accurate way of identifying the baby's father is to do a paternity test.
Best of luck on the arrival of your baby in September.
