Unusual Preovulatory Temperatures

Question
I ovulated on 23.01.07. My luteal phase is 14 days. I had my menses on 6.02.07. My BBT from 04.02.07 has been 98.8. This has remained the same even during my menses and after the menses stopped on 09.02.07. Today 12.02.07 the temp dropped to 98.0. What has been the reason for the high temps and why the drop now?

Dear Pamela,
Without access to a fully charted cycle and cycle history it is difficult to pinpoint the cause of this temperature elevation. Possiblities include low-grade fever, delayed ovulation with breakthrough bleeding,or pregnancy. Consultation with an NFP teacher should provide a clearer interpretation.
