Does Positive Mean I'm Pregnant?

Question
Hi. I've tested 2 HPT 2 days ago and the same result is +ve. I went to my doctor and she was convinced that I'm pregnant. What I'm worried about is I feel like I'm having my menstruation. It started pink and brown then becoming red with some clots (little clots)and it's for 2 days now. The doctor said it could be implantation bleeding. I can't seem to shift it off my mind because I'm too worried that the test is false positive or it could be that I'm losing a baby. Btw, I'm 7 wks pregnant if i go with my LMP. I'm usually irregular. Then I decided to take HPT after waiting for my period for 3 wks. I hope you can enlighten me on this. My husband and I have been trying for quite a long time now and if I go with the HPT result, it's giving me a hope that this could be true.
Thanks a lot.

Answer
Dear Maria Teresa,
If you had a positive pregnancy test, you are pregnant. False negatives are not uncommon, but positive tests are reliable. There can be a light bleeding at implantation. Consult your doctor regarding the specific characteristics of the bleeding you are having. You can also ask your doctor to check your progesterone levels. If inadequate, your doctor can prescribe a bio-identical progesterone to help you body maintain normal levels, until such time as tests indicate it is doing so all on its own.
I wish you well.
