Question
I have had irregular periods the last couple months. In October I was suppose to start around the 6th, took pregancy test came up negative didn't start until the 26th of October. Then only bled for 2 days. Then didn't have a period in November, then I started to bleed on the 8th or 9th of December. Only bled for 2 days and was very light. Could I be pregnant? If not why are periods very irregular.

Answer
Dear Mary,
It's very difficult to give you good information about your menstrual cycle or be able to confirm a pregnancy because I don't know how old you are or if you have had intercourse on days of fertility or not.
Since you are having intercourse it is always possible that you many be pregnant each cycle then miscarrying, or you could be pregnant and still have some bleeding. Did you take another pregnancy test in December?
If the two days of bleeding is your normal menstruation, it is not normal.
I would recommend that you discuss you fertility health with your doctor and also find out all you can about your body. There are several good programs listed on this web site for Natural Family Planning classes. Call someone in the area where you live.
Please take good care of yourself.
