Question

I am 24 yrs old and have 2 kids. I got on the depo shot after my second child 2 weeks after giving birth then month and half later got tubes tied. Now 2 months after getting tubes tied and coming off depo I have been lightly bleeding for 2 weeks. What is this?? And about 3weeks ago I had pain diuring intercourse for 3 days in a row but it went away. What is going on with me?? Is this from the depo or tubes being tied?

Delta

Answer

Dear Delta,

It is very common for women to have irregular bleeding as they are coming off of the depo. However, in your situation, you may be having other causes of the pain and bleeding. Because of your recent surgery, you should discuss your symptoms directly with your doctor.

Sincerely,
Lynn Kerr. MD
