Question
I was wondering besides any other pills or anything like that what do I do about ovulation? My Dr. says it sounds like my brain is telling me not to ovulate and so that is why my periods are late. What do I do? Also my period is late this month but after sex the other night I bled a little bit and was done. Could this mean I am pregnant?
Answer
Implantation bleeding does not happen immediately after sex, but a week or two later. If you are having infrequent periods, it sounds like you may not be ovulating, or at least ovulating infrequently. My best advice is to learn how to observe your body's signs of fertility, and when you have accumulated several months of charting your cycles, that you take these records to a physician trained to interpret them, for evaluation, diagnosis and treatment. Our site contains a great deal of additional information on the evaluation and treatment of fertility. We also have online a directory of teachers who can teach you how to observe and chart records of your cycles, and physicians who would be willing to review your chart and recommend a course of treatment.
